Once again for the Daytona 500, Riley Herbst will pilot the No. 15 car for Rick Ware Racing, and he has more Cup races ahead. The NASCAR Xfinity Series driver has proven his skill on superspeedways and is ready to do it again.

The driver lineup for Rick Ware Racing is starting to look really solid. Justin Haley is full-time in the 51 car. Then you have Kaz Grala in the No. 15 for 25 races this season. The other 13 weekends are going to be split between Riley Herbst and (if the funding is there) Cody Ware who was reinstated after a lengthy suspension in 2023.

Herbst raced at both Daytona and Talladega races in 2023. He split those races between Rick Ware Racing and Front Row Motorsports. In those four events, he came away with two top-10 finishes, including P10 in the Daytona 500.

Monster Energy is going to be the sponsor, as expected. It will give the RFK Racing and RWR alliance five total cars on the track.

Rick Ware is more than happy to welcome Riley back to his team, and Monster Energy.

“Riley continues to impress as a driver,” said team owner Rick Ware in a press release. “He showcased what we could do together by securing a top-10 in his first Cup Series start in last year’s Daytona 500, so we look forward to using that as our benchmark when we return to do it again in a few weeks.

“Additionally, to partner with a global brand like Monster Energy is something I take very seriously for RWR as a company. Monster’s commitment to motorsports is something I respect and value, and I’m proud to have the opportunity to work together with Riley and the Monster brand throughout 2024.”

Another big opportunity for Herbst.

Riley Herbst is just breaking out

Last season was the first win in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, or any national series, for Riley Herbst. It took him more than 100 races to get there, but he was able to dominate in Las Vegas on his way to his first career win.

Since that win, Herbst has shown that he is more than ready to keep the momentum going. He closed the final five races of the season out with finishes of P4, P1, P2, P4, and P4. Sometimes, all you need is a little push and that Las Vegas win might have done it.

In the offseason, Herbst returned to his racing roots, Trophy Trucks. He won the Spec Class in the Baja 1000. Say all you want about “buying rides” or whatever the complaints are – this guy is a racer through and through. He just happens to have the funding to put him in situations where he can succeed.

The Las Vegas native is going to have his eyes on a Championship 4 appearance. He just watched his teammate Cole Custer win the Xfinity Series championship. Why not Riley Herbst in 2024?
